Westside Youth Soccer and Penticton Pinnacles FC Announce Exciting Development Partnership
Westside Youth Soccer Association and Penticton Pinnacles FC are excited to announce a new development partnership. As two progressive clubs that are located in a geographically unique region of the Okanagan, this opportunity creates shared resources and plans that will support player and coach development initiatives in both clubs.
Adam Terheege, Chair of Pinnacles FC, commented “we feel a strong synergy with WYSA, and together both clubs can implement exciting program opportunities so players can develop to their utmost ability in the southwest region of the Okanagan”.
Matt Holbrook, WYSA’s Executive Director, added “we are in a club-building phase, and to bring this partnership to life will only enhance our own club initiatives while engaging with a fellow club focused on the same goals”.
Partnership initiatives that will be rolled out soon:
- Both clubs will host tournaments, with priority acceptance and placement of each other’s teams into those events. Thanksgiving weekend will be the first weekend for this, with WYSA launching a U9-U10 tournament in West Kelowna, and the Pinnacles hosting a U11-U18 tournament in Penticton.
- Regular hosted game opportunities. Whether it is one-off games, or regular jamboree style events, both clubs have committed to hosting each other regularly to ensure game opportunities for their teams.
- WYSA and PFC will share access to coach development opportunities, with Technical Directors and staff from both clubs hosting sessions that will be open to coaches from both organizations.
- Sharing of opportunities for players that may not have a team to join in their local club, so that all players have a place to play in the region.
Both clubs have very engaged and supportive Boards, and this partnership will further solidify Pinnacles FC and Westside Youth Soccer as premium development clubs in the Okanagan.
