Andrew Stevenson: Technical Director

Andrew Stevenson began his soccer journey on our own home turf with the Pinnacles. He made a lasting impact on soccer development in the Okanagan through his coaching, leadership, and playing career. During his playing years, Andrew earned national recognition, captaining the Olympic Development Program's U16 all-star team and having trial stints with Scunthorpe United and Vancouver Whitecaps before pursuing soccer on scholarships at UofC and UBCO.

As a coach with TOFC in the BCSPL, he developed players who advanced to the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency program. In 2018, Andrew co-founded Okanagan Football Club (OFC), leading the premier men’s team to playoffs in their first season. He comes to Pinnacles FC after a stellar year with Calgary’s Foothills FC as Director of Grassroots Soccer where he coached two Tier 1 youth teams to provincial champions. Andrew holds a CSA National A License and the Technical Director’s certification from BC Soccer.

Manuel Borba: Outgoing Head Coach

Sometimes you meet someone and you can tell right away which sport they play.  Manuel is one of those people. Soccer is in his blood.  He has been part of the soccer scene in Penticton for more than 40 years.

He played soccer with two clubs in Penticton, the Portuguese Sporting Club, and the Penticton Soccer Club Pinnacles.  He is one of three founding members of the Penticton Portuguese Club (Luso Canadian Multicultural) whose soccer team traveled to tournaments as far as California and completed a five-week soccer tour of Portugal in the 1980s.   In 1997, Manuel was honored to be named the team captain of the Tim Horton Pinnacles for their inaugural season in the Pacific Coast Soccer League (PCSL).

Manuel stopped playing in 1999 and has since been concentrating on coaching. He has traveled extensively to learn from many high-level coaches in many different areas and countries.   Since retiring from the City of Penticton Parks department in 2019, he has been able to devote even more time to PFC player development as well as the PFC Junior Coaches Mentorship program.

In addition to being the Head coach for Pinnacles FC, he is also the Head Coach of the PCSL Tim Horton Pinnacles.  Manuel has recently been appointed to the PCSL (Pacific Coast Soccer League) board of directors.  He is very proud to be the first board member from the Interior in the history of this league that was established in 1908.

We are so proud to have Manuel representing Pinnacles FC and back on the field!

Tommy McGill: Head Coach (2025)

Tommy spent his youth in the pro youth Rangers FC and then played for Ayr United, his home town pro team. Ayr is a small seaside town, the size of Penticton, on the west coast of Scotland. Tommy has been coaching for almost 20 years. After being capped at the international level for Scotland Amateur, he coached the pro youth keepers at Ayr United. Since immigrating to Canada he has become a very sought after keeper coach and now coaches all ages of players, with all different levels of ability. He has seen his players’ progress to play for many different college and universities, as well as the White Caps. He takes great pleasure in seeing them progress in this sport, and in being able to play a part in their development.

 Patrick Buchanan: Assistant Goalkeeper Coach

Patrick Buchanan is one of our most engaged PFC board members and coaches. Serving in various capacities and roles with PFC for more than 10 years, Patrick will add to his responsibilities by assisting Coach Tommy as Pinnacles FC increases their Goalkeepers training program this spring. Patrick has also accepted the role as Liaison for Club programs and Excelsior development teams.

We wish Patrick a successful season and look forward to seeing him on the field.
